The Chart of a Professional Psychic
Astrology Bridges Science and Metaphysics
By K.N. Rao, from Yogis, Destiny, and the Wheel of Time, – ch. 24
Astrology is a divine science, which needs something of yogic insight to understand it even, and not merely method and some formulae. It is for this reason that this is one of the six limbs of the Vedas and is described as a Vedanga.
I believe in the achievements of physical sciences and technology, and also in the supernormal. Astrology provides the link between the two. My jyotish Guru, Yogi Bhaskaranandji was right. He said, “If you do not know how to view life holistically, you are a fool. And we have more fools amongs the educated.”
Astrology was meant to teach wisdom to its practioner. It was meant to be a bridge between the para (divine knowledge) and the apara (worldly knowledge).
Clairvoyance and Vedic Astrology
By K.N. Rao, from Yogis, Destiny, and the Wheel of Time, – ch. 4
The best planetary combinations for clairovoyance, or even siddhis (spiritual powers) are:
a) Connection of Ketu with Jupiter, involving the 5th house and its lord, the 8th house and its lord, or the 12th house and its lord.
b) The second best is, the same combination as above without the involvement of Jupiter.
c) The third best is Ketu in the 12th house without any aspect, Moon in the rashi (sign) of Saturn aspected by Mars, or in the rashi of Mars aspected by Saturn, with Jupiter influencing the lagna (ascendant) or lagna lord exactly.
The best example I have seen to date, though I have not succeeded in collecting the horoscopes of other gifted saints, is that of my own Guruji(Swami Paramananda Saraswati). Note the combinations.
Swami Paramananda Saraswati’s Natal chart
Swami Paramananda Saraswati’s Navamsha chart
a) Ketu in the twelfth house aspected by the 5th and the 8th lord, Jupiter.
b) In the navamsa, as also in the birth horoscope, the Moon comes under the influence of both Saturn and Mars.
Since very early in his life he took to sannyas(renunciate vows) and maintained the pure spiritual life throughout, and went rising higher and higher. Clairovoyance was one of his supernormal achievements, or siddhis.
Planetary Combinations for Clairvoyance
By K.N. Rao, from Yogis, Destiny, and the Wheel of Time, – ch. 4
In the case of great saints for who siddhis(spiritual powers) become a part of their lives, the period of success of their sadhana (spiritual practices) should be seen. Thereafter their siddhis will continue with them.
But in the case of ordinary mortals like me, since I have studied many such cases, I can say confidently that it occurs most:
a) In the major or sub-periods of planets in Karka (Cancer) or Meena (Pisces), preferably in second and third dreshkonas (drekkanas). What we call sarpa dreshkonas, represents the kundalini power in a spiritual sense. Vrishchika (Scorpio) gives this power but with a good deal of morbidity. Karka and Meena are the rashis (signs) of Moon and Jupiter and maybe because of their beneficent nature, they color the clairovoyant with sweet divinity.
b) Such visions occur in the periods of the 5th and the 9th lords also.
c) Planets in the 8th house, having a very substantial role in such visions, the range and frequency almost unlimited.
In transit, Jupiter aspecting natal Ketu or in the 5th or 9th house from the lagna seems to be the best time for such visions.
I have further noticed that those who have such combinations mostly in the 12th house, get experiences in dreams, while those with the 5th or 9th houses involved may get it sometimes in puja (worship) or in their dreams. But those who have it in the 8th house get it in all states, dreams, meditations, or even when walking and waking hours.
But I must warn that clairvoyant vision need not be the sign of any spiritual progress. I know of many who have clairvoyant visions but no spiritual discipline in their lives. Clairvoyance is, more often than not, a psychic gift rather than a spiritual gift. Saints who have it only have to close their eyes and see it all. Psychics who have it go into some sort of trance which can occur anytime. If they are lacking in spiritual discipline, which primarily is taking sattvic (pure) foods, their aberrations are too many. I have met some psychics in India and even one of the well known foreign psychics who visits India once in a while. Their ‘predictions’ are too limited in range, too slippery to be of much value. Though I will concede that sometimes they do come out with something startling.
But far superior to clairvoyance is honest and deep work on a horoscope astrologically. The results are more dependable, substantial and, once in a while, spectacular.
Quiz Answer: Yes, definitely.
This is the Vedic astrology chart of a man who has been a professional psychic for more than twenty five years.
In the quotes of K.N. Rao that I used in the articles on 11/08/2005and 11/09/2005 he points out that planets located in the moksha houses 8th and 12th and planets in water signs Cancer, Pisces or Scorpio can give clairvoyant visions. Notice how in this chart that there are 4 planets in the 12th house. Mercury, the ruler of the ascendant and the 10th house, is with the Moon in the 12th house along with the 8th lord Mars and Jupiter. There are also three planets, the Sun, Rahu and Venus in the water sign of Cancer. A few other combinations that K.N. Rao pointed out are Ketu in the 5th house, which gives depth of spiritual insight, and the Moon aspected by Mars and Saturn. This man has both of these combinations as well.
He was in a Rahu period from 1966 to 1984. K.N. Rao praised dashas of planets in Cancer or Pisces for giving clairvoyant visions. Rahu is in the sign of Cancer, with the ruler of Cancer, the Moon, in the 12th house with the 8th lord, Mars. This was the period that he began his career as a psychic, which has continued through both his Jupiter and Saturn dashas that followed.
Here’s the Vedic astrology chart of a man who, like in yesterday’s article, has also been a professional psychic for more than twenty five years. Notice how he has three planets in the 8th house, Venus, Ketu and Mars. Mars and Venus form a raja yoga in the 8th house as the rulers of the 4th and 5th houses respectively. This gives tremendous success and status in 8th house matters like psychic development and metaphysical studies. This has been the case in this man’s life. He has been a very popular psychic and has given more than 10,000 readings in nearly 30 years. K.N. Rao says that:

Notice also how there is a parivartana yoga or an exchange of signs between the Sun and Venus, who are the rulers of the 8th and 10th houses respectively. Venus is in the Sun’s sign of Leo, while the Sun is debilitated in Venus’s sign of Libra. This creates a powerful connection between the 10th house of career and the 8th house of metaphysics.
He was in a Jupiter mahadasha from 1973 to 1989 during which time he began his career as a psychic. Again K.N. Rao says that clairvoyant visions happen most in the dashas or sub dashas of planets in Pisces or Cancer. In this case, this man has Jupiter in Pisces and during Jupiter’s dasha he had many such clairvoyant visions. This also continued through his Saturn mahadasha. Saturn is closely aspected by Jupiter in Pisces.
It’s interesting to note that he has his ascendant in an earth sign, which must help to balance his otherwise other-worldly nature and help him give practical advice in the material world.
